Location notes
A busy junction station near to the Humber oil refineries and iron works in Linconshire. There are also a number of semaphore signals in the area to add interest.
For people interested in all night 'spotting' visits if it worth noting that the station lights are automatically switched off around 01:30. The unmanned station will then be in darkness.

Railway type and traffic
Some units on passenger workings but the main focus of traffic is the EWS and Freightliner hauled freights. Humber Oil, Scunthorpe Iron and coal traffic is predominant with at least 3 or 4 trains an hour. These trains are mostly 66 hauled but expcet a few 60s to appear. Environment
Barnetby is a small village, the station usually has a number of enthusiasts on it.
Road directions
From the end of the M180 Barnetby le Wold is signposted to the south. The station is well signposted in the village.

Parking
There is a free station car park.
Amenities
There is a pub opposite the station. Also, there is a Chippy about 250 yards down the road - It is closed on Mondays and between 13:00 and 16:30.
There are also public toilets situated on the approach road to the station, though these are not open 24hrs.

Photographic notes
The light will favour south east bound trains from around midday. The foot bridge provides a number of different levels from which to shoot, giving you a 'classic' shot of a train approaching from the north east. There are semaphores at both ends of the platforms.
