Location notes
Located about 30 miles South East of Middlesbrough and 10 miles South West of Whitby, on the Esk Valley line.
Railway type and traffic
One train runs back and forth between Middlesbrough and Whitby. During the week this is usually a 144 but on weekends it could be any of Arriva's units.
There are also occasional extra trains to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Grosmont.

Environment
North Yorkshire is a beautiful part of the country with large rolling hills and amazing scenery. It is also very open and very exposed so weather here can be extreme at certain times of the year. Given the moors nature of the location it would be sensible to dress for the outdoors and expect the weather to change.
Road directions
From the A171 take the Egton junction (Signposted for Grosmont and Egton) and in about a mile you will be in Egton. Turn right in Egton and follow the signs for Glaisdale. When you have reached Glaisdale continue through the village and the station is on the left after about half a mile.

Parking
There is a small car park at the station.
Public transport
There is a train every three and a half hours in each direction.
There is a bus (Number 99) every 2 hours to and from Whitby.
