New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
This location is situated a mile from Brora, and lies on The Far North Line.
Railway type and traffic
The type of traffic found here is as solid diet of First Scotrail class 158s.
Charters that visit this location have become more varied in the past 2-3 years, tours are now providing a wide range of locos.
There is talk of Nuclear work taken off from the decomissioning of Doureay, this could make the line more interesting if DRS use the classic locos.
Environment
The location is very basic and lies in a disused field just south of Brora, I would say that you are safe here after dark (in the event of something interesting happening).
Road directions
From the south is very simple:
Once you join the A9 at Perth just remain on the road all the way to Brora and you will see the location just as you come on the outskirts of Brora it can be AWS warning board with Crossing board below it.

Parking
You can park you car across the road on the entrance to a farm which has plenty room for farm traffic to get down even if there is a parked car there.
Public transport
Getting to this location by Public Transport is quite difficult, Brora Station is located at the other end of the village so I would say a walking distance of about 2 miles, for train information visit First ScotRail.
There is also a coach which may let you off near this location for info on coaches visit Traveline Sctoland.

Amenities
This location is totally amenities free, there is a chip shop in the centre of Brora along with a supermarket and bakery.
There is toilets situated around the back, in the car park, of the Co-op supermarket.
Accommodation
For accomodation I would reccomend you get in contact with The Scottish Tourist board - Visit Scotland.com. Or, Rogart Station has it's own Camping Coaches.
Sun Compass

Photographic notes
This location just like many others is and sun can vary, I recently visited the location and the sun was on the front of the VSOE charter as it headed south at 18:30, but typical as it does soon as the train got close the sun goes in, but the location is good for both videographers and photographers.
